OFFICIAL: Ansu Fati signs Barcelona renewal until 2022 with €170m release clause

Barcelona have announced that Ansu Fati has put pen to paper on fresh terms at Camp Nou, extending his current deal until the summer of 2022, with a further option of two other years.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

Barcelona and Ansu Fati have reached an agreement to improve the player’s contract through to 30 June 2022, extendable by two further seasons, and his buyout clause has been raised from 100 to 170 million euros.

That clause will be increased to 400 million euros when the player signs a pro contract as a full-time member of the Barcelona first team.

Pen was put to paper this Tuesday in the Barcelona offices in the presence of club president Bartomeu and technical secretary Abidal.

About Fati

Anssumane Fati has made a meteoric rise to fame since arriving at the club in 2012 when he was just ten years of age. 

He has gone on to become the youngest Barcelona player to ever score a Liga goal when he was just 16 years and 304 days old, and he is also the youngest Barça player to start a game at Camp Nou or appear in the Champions League.

To date, he has turned out for the club 11 times across all competitions, netting twice and registering one assist.
