Arsenal boss earns March's prize after overseeing a perfect month of three wins from three matches
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has won the Barclays Manager of the Month award for an eighth time.
The Spaniard earns the prize after overseeing a perfect March, where his side beat Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton. The Gunners were the only side to win all of their Premier League matches across the month.
Arteta's success sees him move up to joint-sixth on the all-time leaderboard for the most Barclays Manager of the Month wins, level with Martin O'Neill and Harry Redknapp.
The Gunners boss is only two away from equalling former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who sits outright fifth, with 10 awards.
Furthermore, Arteta has won at least two more Barclays Manager of the Month awards than anyone else since he was appointed Arsenal manager in December 2019. Nuno Espirito Santo (six times) and Pep Guardiola (five) are the others to have won it the most times in that period.
With Arsenal chasing a first league title in 22 years, Arteta saw his side open up a nine-point gap over second-placed Manchester City in March.
The Gunners started the month with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over London rivals Chelsea, before edging past Brighton 1-0.
The victory against Everton, meanwhile, could prove to be one of the most defining matches of Arsenal's campaign.
Arteta's decision to bring on 16-year-old Max Dowman at 0-0 with 16 minutes remaining proved to be inspired. The teenager forced the opening goal in the 89th minute before scoring the second himself in the seventh minute of stoppage time, becoming the Premier League's youngest goalscorer ever in the process.
“I had a gut feeling it was a moment for him," Arteta said after the match.
Arteta topped a five-man shortlist also featuring Eddie Howe (Newcastle United), Fabian Hurzeler (Brighton), Regis Le Bris (Sunderland) and David Moyes (Everton), after votes from fans were combined with those of a panel of experts.
Arsenal could yet make it an awards double today, with David Raya nominated for the Coca-Cola Save of the Month award. The winner will be announced at 14:00 BST.

October: Ruben Amorim (Man Utd)

We have already won the Emirates Cup in pre-season, i seriously believe that we will win the EPL. And maybe even another trophy, but i can see us getting into 2 more semis and then just maybe we can win another. Sorry but your team has got a scrap with Chelsea for 5th place. You won’t win the Champions League i am sure of that and i believe that you are in agreement with me.

Slot has damaged my team
The board sanctioned high purchases for players who you didn’t need. Etikite was a decent signing, but they didn’t need Isaak after that. Wirtz is a quality player but he should be played in his best position, like Eze at Arsenal. Szoboszlai has been your best player in my opinion and he has regularly been played at R/B. Kerkez has been poor. You should definitely go and get Alonso, although i hope you stick with Slot for obvious reasons.
