FC Barcelona informs LaLiga that it is resigning from continuing to be part of the group of clubs that had a place on the current delegated committee of the employers' association.
FC Barcelona has sent a letter to LaLiga expressing "surprise and indignation" at the publication on April 2 by the Spanish football association of an information note entitled: "Regarding the corporate operation related to VIP boxes communicated to LALIGA by FC Barcelona at the end of last December" .
Barça emphasizes that it was unaware of this letter from LaLiga and that it did not grant its consent, which has led the Catalan entity to send a letter asking the employers' association, its president and any member of this body to refrain from making any comments or assessments on the economic information sent by the Catalan club, as it is confidential material.
Barça underlines the inappropriate behavior of LaLiga in making public details of the economic information provided by the Club to the employers' association as well as in publicly announcing decisions of the LaLiga bodies against FC Barcelona, which, in the opinion of the Club, "is a flagrant violation of LaLiga's obligations towards one of its affiliates, as well as an express breach of article 5 of the Budget Elaboration Rules ", continues the letter sent by Barça.
This article says:
"ARTICLE 5. CONFIDENTIALITY. The information, data and documents that the Clubs/SADs provide to LALIGA in compliance with these Rules will be confidential and will be subject to data protection regulations, without prejudice to the obligations arising from the information requirements of the judicial and administrative bodies."
This duty of confidentiality applies and is required of LaLiga despite other information having been published by the media, since the employers' association and all its members "must refrain from confirming, ratifying or contradicting" any economic data provided by the Club.
Furthermore, the Barça club regrets that the published Information Note "has been the trigger for a large-scale defamation campaign against the Club and the President by the media; a campaign that is being used as an excuse to question the legitimacy of the competitive situation of our first team."
Another reproach that the Club makes to LaLiga is due to public statements by its president, Javier Tebas, "against our players, such as Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor - legally registered as recently reiterated by the Superior Sports Council in its resolution of April 3, 2025".
The statements of the president of LaLiga represent "a clear attempt at destabilization that is unacceptable" coming from the highest representative of the competition organizer, while indicating that Mr. Tebas' constant public statements about details of the Club's economic situation -according to his particular interpretation- or that he expresses particular opinions about leaving our players without a license when, to date, he has already been proven right on two occasions cannot be accepted.
Likewise, the Club announces the start of appropriate actions in defense of its interests and requires LaLiga to:
1. From now on, absolutely refrain from making public, in any format, by itself or by any person in the organization, details or data about the information/documentation provided by FC Barcelona to LaLiga in compliance with our obligations as an affiliate;
2. Absolutely refrain from making public, in any format, by itself or by any person in the organization, the actions or initiatives undertaken by LaLiga in relation to the Club and/or its players within the framework of LaLiga-affiliate relations; and
3. That the Informative Note dated April 2, 2025 containing the following link be immediately removed from the LaLiga website: https://www.laliga.com/noticias/nota-informativa-respecto-de-la-operacion-corporativa-relacionada-con-palcos-vip-del-fc-barcelona
On the other hand, FC Barcelona has informed LaLiga, Las Palmas and Celta de Vigo that, due to the current discrepancies and behavior of the LaLiga bodies, the Club is resigning from continuing to be part of the group of clubs that, as a joint candidacy, is a member of the current LaLiga Delegate Commission.
Finally, the Club respects that LaLiga has filed an appeal against the CSD resolution dated April 3, 2025, as communicated in another Note today. “We hope that we will be given a transfer of the same to properly answer the false statements contained in the aforementioned communication and we hope that LaLiga also refrains from trying to influence jurisdictional decisions through public notes that lack rigor and objectivity.”

For those who wants clarity Barcelona has released an official statement expressing frustration with La Liga and its president, Javier Tebas, for not keeping the club’s financial information fully confidential. The club insists that any financial details they share must be treated with absolute privacy. As a result of this issue, Barcelona has also decided to withdraw from the "employers' delegates' committee"—a group made up of representatives from different clubs who regularly meet with La Liga to discuss and help make important decisions about how the league is run. By pulling out of this committee, Barcelona is basically distancing itself from La Liga’s leadership structure as a form of protest and showing they no longer trust the process.

Whenever Barca is facing crisis, they make it feel it’s our fault but when we bounce back, then they suddenly begin to frustrate our progress. I’m not surprised because I know it’s an off pitch plot to bring us down. Same thing happened to Man City. I don’t know why people hate Barca so much. Madrid is the greatest team, yet couldn’t produce the greatest player. If Barca had Messi then it has to be appreciated rather than hated. Hatred doesn’t make us weak but only makes us stronger because we always like challenges. We Barca have one thing you can’t take from us. We accept defeat because we always find a way to bounce back. We don’t believe in luck. We might not have all the best players like Madrid are dying hard to buy all the best players but we still remain special and untouchable. Everyone is scared of our harmless team and we put it to them that, this is just the beginning of another glorious Era. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

If Laliga doesn’t want FC Barcelona to be part of them, they should just let the club know, so that FC Barcelona will find a place in Either Premier or any other league in Europe.
