Bayern Munich have today confirmed that their striker Sandro Wagner has joined Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda.
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic says that Sandro Wagner requested a transfer.
"Sandro Wagner came up to us and asked for release from his contract, says Salihamidzic. "He has a very attractive offer from China and we have met his request."
"We very much thank Sandro for spending time with FC Bayern and wish him all the best and much success for his future in China."
Wagner joined Bayern just over a year ago from TSG Hoffenheim for a fee of €13 million. He played regularly under interim coach Jupp Heynckes, permitting Bayern's first striker, Robert Lewandowski, to rest between crucial matches in the Champions League and DFB Pokal.
Wagner had a very productive 2017/2018 season, netting 15 goals and 4 assists — 8 and 2 of them, respectively, for Bayern. Wagner enjoyed the highlight of his Bayern return when he scored a brace against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Under Niko Kovac, there has been little opportunity to start Wagner.
Wagner's new club, Tianjin Teda, has also confirmed the deal. Teda is coached by former German national player Uli Stielike. A magnificent payday awaits Wagner as he sails off into the far eastern sunrise: he is set to earn €15 million on a contract running through 2020, or about €5 million every half a year.

I don’t care about Wagner but I mean our squad is very thin and now we have Gnabry that needs to be covering 2 positions. I would have signed an attacking player this month but the CHO deal fell through sadly.

Heynckes was a bad coach
Interesting comment for a treble cup winning coach.
