OFFICIAL: Casemiro, Reguilon and Malacia return to Man United training

The Reds are preparing for our third game in Group A of this season's UEFA Champions League, against FC Copenhagen, and a positive result is needed following defeats to Bayern Munich (4-3) and Galatasaray (3-2) in the opening two fixtures.

Ten Hag confirmed in his press conference at Carrington that Sergio Reguilon needed to be assessed in training, after the Spaniard missed Saturday's 2-1 win at Bramall Lane due to illness.

“Today he will train and then we have to assess if he is ready and game fit or if he can be involved in the squad,” said the manager. “We have to wait for that.”

Our on-loan left-back was present at the session, while Casemiro was there with the rest of the squad too.

The Brazilian cannot play at Old Trafford on Tuesday, due to suspension. He was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in the defeat to Galatasaray three weeks ago.

His inclusion in the session is encouraging, however, as we also look forward to Sunday's Manchester derby.

He was all smiles with Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot - who scored the winning goal against Sheffield United - as the pair warmed up with one another.

The 31-year-old also joined in with the wider team as United's stars were put through their paces by Ten Hag and his coaching team throughout the early afternoon.

Meanwhile, there was further good news in the form of Tyrell Malacia also being involved back in training as he nears a return following a long-term layoff.

The Netherlands international has been absent for the entirety of the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury, but was seen taking part in light individual drills on his own away from the first-team.

Ten Hag hopes to welcome Malacia back into the fray soon given the absence of Luke Shaw, while Segio Reguilon has struggled to stay fit since joining on a short-term loan in the summer.
