OFFICIAL: Everton complete the signing of Theo Walcott from Arsenal for £20m.
Theo Walcott has completed his move to Everton, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal which keeps him at the club until 2021.
The fee for the winger is in the region of £20m, with the England international set to take the No 11 shirt vacated by Kevin Mirallas who has re-joined Olympiakos on loan.
Everton boss Sam Allardyce confirmed last week the club had entered into negotiations with Arsenal over Walcott, who carried out his medical on Tuesday after travelling to the club's training ground.
The 28-year-old leaves Arsenal as their current longest-serving player having signed from Southampton in 2006 but had fallen out-of-favour at The Emirates this season, making only six Premier League appearances.
Southampton had been keen to land Walcott, but Everton's spending power and the player's desire to work with Allardyce were the key reasons for his move to Goodison Park.
Walcott becomes Everton's second signing of the January transfer window, following Cenk Tosun's £27m switch from Besiktas, and Allardyce revealed last week that he believed Walcott would be another "great addition" to his squad.
PLAYER PROFILE
Theo Walcott is a product of the Southampton Academy and started his career with Southampton before joining Arsenal for £5 million in 2006. His speedy pace and ball crossing led his manager Arsene Wenger to deploy him on the wing for most of his career. Walcott has been played as a striker since the 2012–13 season when he was Arsenal's top scorer. During his 12-year stint in London, Walcott won three FA Cups and two Community Shields.
He has been capped 47 times by England, but his international career has stalled. His last outing for the Three Lions came in 2016 but he did not feature at the European Championship in France.

Not saying the transfer is not a good one, but, all these exits and non coming in as replacement is not good for the club. But I sense a major overhaul and huge spendings next season.

It is important to replace players who are no longer committed to the overall goal.. If all GUNNERS supporters understands the view of the management of the club, it's all about Dollars and more dollars. Create great players, sell and make money. yes it's hard as a fan to be going home empty handed each year except for the minor cups, but one thing we can say, we have seen the best of football on the pitch from our team. The manager must stay in my opinion, it's not just him that makes decision, he creates some of the best players the league has seen.

There are many ways of making profit in Football by Club owners & their management. It may not necessarily through winning Trophies alone but Spectators, Sale of Talented Players, Rights and so on. The Clubs are after Profit regardless of winning Trophies or not which Arsenal is one of them.
