OFFICIAL: Fabio Silva joins Borussia Dortmund from Wolves

According to official statement, Fabio Silva moves to BVB.

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have strengthened their attack and signed striker Fabio Silva from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League with immediate effect. The 23-year-old successfully completed the obligatory medical check today and then signed a contract with BVB until 30 June 2030.

"It was our goal to broaden the team's position in the centre of attack during the current transfer period in order to be as unpredictable as possible and to be as well prepared as possible for all situations in three competitions. We needed a lot of patience to push through our ideas and are now happy to have signed a player with great potential in Fabio Silva," said Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Lars Ricken.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl emphasised: "Fabio Silva was considered an extraordinary talent at a very young age, has gained important experience in recent seasons, has matured as a footballer and as a person and is still a young player with potential for development. Fabio brings a lot of quality: goal threat, game intensity, pace, and he can be used flexibly in several positions. All that, as well as the fact that he is a success-driven, working striker, makes this transfer very valuable for us."

Fabio Silva, who went through all of Portugal's youth national teams from the U15s to the U21s and made his senior debut last year, joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from FC Porto as an 18-year-old and has since made 72 competitive appearances (5 goals/6 assists) for Wolves. Last season, he was on loan to Spanish club UD Las Palmas and scored 10 goals (3 assists) in 24 games.
