With due respect to Firmino he has never contributed much to the Brazilian national team, not as much as he does at Liverpool. Ideally he's now past his best (sell by date.) Introducing young players at national team level is a brave decision which promotes continuity, Belgium is one team whose selection was perhaps based on old known names and the results don't lie. Argentina has 2-3 old guys still surviving in the old team, Messi, Di Maria and Otamendi the rest are upcoming promising players. Uruguay meanwhile went to the world cup tournament with almost 5 tired legs! The England team is another good example but it is not the same with Wales.
