OFFICIAL: Joselu will wear the no.14 shirt for Real Madrid as no.9 still unused

Real Madrid has announced through a video that their new signing Joselu Mato will wear the number 14 shirt.

Though Florentino Pérez has indicated previously that Joselu would be the last signing this summer for Real Madrid, the number 9 shirt is still without an owner.

On his Real Madrid presentation Joselu said, "Number 14? The number is not so important to me. I'm just proud to wear a Real Madrid shirt."

"I'm not here to replace Benzema. I'm here to enjoy, to help the club. I'm here to do my part."

Joselu himself chose the number 14. The last Real Madrid player to take the number is Casemiro.
