Hugo Lloris has undergone surgery on his dislocated left elbow but Tottenham still expect the goalkeeper to return to training early next year.
Lloris suffered the horrific injury as he fell into his goal after dropping a cross from Seagulls midfielder Pascal Gross early on in the match on October 5.
Tottenham released a statement on Thursday morning to provide an update on the 32-year-old's injury.
The statement read: 'Following further clinical testing and examination, Hugo Lloris has now undergone surgery on his left elbow.
'The France goalkeeper dislocated his elbow and sustained ligament damage during our Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion last month.
'Surgery was advised after further reviews by specialists found the elbow remained unstable.
'Our Club captain remains on course to return to training in the early part of next year.'

Hope he gets better soon. But Lloris also apparently has a record for most mistakes for a goalkeeper since 2016 or something. Either way Areola should have been considered even when Lloris was fit given the fact he held 8 goals in 2 games. Areola better not mess up this chance, the only worry would be that unlike Areola, Lloris wasnt bothered by the pressure of being Frances number 1 and playing on the world stage....

Not the thing we all want.A player's retirement is acceptable but this sort of long term injury is just heart breaking. He is a major player for Spurs. They are anyway suffering now its gonna be the worst.
