Manchester City have confirmed that a deal has been agreed to bring young defender Yan Couto to the club.
City released, but didn't publicise, a statement on Sunday morning prior to the Carabao Cup final victory over Aston Villa that Couto would be making the move to the Etihad in the summer.
The club revealed that the 17-year-old would arrive from Brazilian side Coritiba on a 5-year-deal and that it 'looks forward to welcoming Yan in the summer.'
MEN Sport reported that City were working to sign Couto on January transfer deadline day, but there wasn't a rush to get the signing completed as the player is not expected to have an immediate impact in the first-team.
The 17-year-old right-back has drawn the attention of Blues scouts thanks to his impressive performances with Brazil Under-17s - who won the U17 World Cup in November, a tournament in which Couto made more chances than any other defender.
Couto had fuelled speculation of a move by reacting cryptically to reports that City had beaten Barcelona to his signature well before the deal was announced.

He certainly has a great opportunity to learn from 2 top quality right backs in Walker and Cancelo. Hopefully he will get some opportunities soon enough and impress at his new club. All the best to the kid.
