Manchester United have announced Craig Mawson has joined the club in the role of assistant first-team goalkeeping coach.
The 40-year-old joins from Burnley, where he has been since 2010 and the club he was at when he was named FA Goalkeeping Coach of the Year in 2015.
“It is such an honour to join Manchester United and to work with the fantastic set-up already in place,” Mawson told United's website.
“Burnley Football Club has been a huge part of my life and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there, both as a player and as a coach. I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me and for the perfect grounding they have provided me with, but this was an opportunity that I couldn't let pass.
“I am looking forward to working with Richard Hartis, the coaches, staff and players. This is an exciting time for the club and I am delighted to be part of that.”
Richard Hartis became United's senior goalkeeping coach in June and worked with Emilio Alvarez, who arrived at United in 2016 to work closely with David de Gea having mentored him at Atletico Madrid.
Alvarez left United in September.
