Reece Oxford has officially brought his eight-year spell with West Ham United to an end after signing with German club Augsburg.
The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal which will keep him with the Bundesliga club until 2023.
Oxford's switch comes a whole four years after he made one of the most impressive debuts in recent Premier League years, featuring for the Hammers against London rivals Arsenal - and in doing so becoming t second-youngest starter in Premier League history
Oxford, starting the high pressure game as a 16-year-old, was tasked with marking World Cup winner Mesut Ozil and keeping the German quiet.
It was a task Oxford managed with remarkable ease, dominating his opponent despite his tender years and likewise holding his own against Aaron Ramsey.
Oxford covered every blade of grass in the game, which West Ham went to win 2-0, and was immediately tipped for the brightest of futures.
Things since that point did not quite go to plan, with the youngster failing to establish himself as a senior West Ham star as expected.

Really sorry to see him leave, and never did understand what stopped him from becoming a first-team regular. Pellegrini is his third WH coach since that debut, and none of them have really included him, so there’s obviously something “not right” about him as a team player.
