Francisco Trincao is set to be presented by Sporting CP today.
The winger is embarking on a new chapter, after enduring an underwhelming loan spell with Wolves.
The 22-year-old spent the 2021/22 season at Molineux, but failed to make an impression and ultimately turn the move permanent.
Wanderers had an option to pay Barcelona £25 million to sign him.
But officials decided not to exercise the option, placing on record their thanks to the player for his contributions.
Trincao is now set to join Sporting CP back in his homeland of Portugal.
Sporting are reportedly paying Barcelona €10 million (£8.5 million), with the Spanish giants having a buy-back clause.
The player has been announced as a new Sporting player today.
Trincao is currently in the Algarve with his new teammates.
According to the report, he likely won’t feature for Sporting in their pre-season games against Saint-Gilloise today and Villarreal tomorrow.
Interestingly, Sporting do actually take on Wolves in pre-season on July 30.
So it is fairly likely that he will be getting some minutes against the club that just turned down the chance to sign him.
He will undoubtedly be out to prove a point.

Wondering when Barca could ever do a good business any club would have sold that boy 30m plus but Barca love selling their players at cheap rate as 3m 5m what a Father Christmas 🎅 club
