OFFICIAL: Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
FC Bayern Munich and head coach Thomas Tuchel have jointly decided to end their working relationship, which was originally set to run until 30 June 2025, on 30 June 2024. This is the outcome of a constructive discussion between CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Thomas Tuchel.
FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen: "In a good, open discussion, we came to the decision to end our working relationship by mutual agreement in the summer. Our goal is to pursue a new footballing direction with a new head coach for the 2024/25 season. Until then, every individual at the club is expressly called upon to achieve the maximum possible in the Champions League and Bundesliga. I also explicitly hold the team accountable in this regard. In the Champions League in particular, after losing 1-0 in the first leg at Lazio, we are convinced we will reach the quarter-finals at a packed Allianz Arena with our fans behind us."
Thomas Tuchel: "We have agreed that we will end our working relationship at the end of this season. Until then, I will of course continue to do everything I can with my coaching staff to achieve maximum success."
Thomas Tuchel succeeded Julian Nagelsmann as head coach of FC Bayern in March 2023. Just over two months later, he celebrated winning the Bundesliga with the club.

One thing killing football is lack of patience on owners of the teams. Expectations management versus reality of the game do not match. In one season, a team hires a new coach. In that season. the new coach recruits, affirms and dismisses players. In that one season, that Team must win trophies, from local League to regional trophies, and even the club world Cup. That is the team owner expectations. If the Coach fails to achieve these targets, in that season, He must be sacked, and ends being sacked. Chelsea, ManU have lived this expectation and seems now they have learned a piece of patience. Otherwise Ten Hag would be gone by now if they continued the Moyes, Rangnick and Solskaer impatience. It appears that Business in football these days does not allow clubs to nurture and grow the game. Business now is "win and win now"! Look at Xabi at Barca, look at Thomas at Bayern... Quick results mindset will make clubs complete all cycles of coaches, but still losing more and more. Arteta would not survive if Arsenal had this mindset. It pays off to be patient. It allows managers to run their strategy well - from building the team to seeing results. But it's hard to see your team lose - especially if it is dominating force like Bayern

Jurgen Klopp is the good example of patience, confidence and trust on the part of Liverpool owners. It demonstrates respect to the manager, and that builds morale and desire to achieve more
