Official Statement
West Ham United is delighted to confirm the loan signing of France international defender Axel Disasi.
Disasi joins from Premier League club Chelsea until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old has five caps for France and was part of the squad that finished runners-up at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, appearing as a substitute in the final against Argentina.
Born in Paris, Disasi made his professional debut for Paris FC, won Ligue 2 with Reims, spent three years playing regularly in Ligue 1 and European competitions with Monaco, and joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
Having made over 300 senior appearances, Disasi has extensive experience at the highest level and is a dominant central defender who plays on the front foot and will add presence in both penalty areas. He is looking forward to showing his qualities in a West Ham United shirt.
“I’m very happy to be here, to have this opportunity,” said Disasi. “I'm just ready to fight and to play games.
“Everyone knows my situation in the last few months, so I just want to get back on the field, feel the sensation of games and help the team.
“The Club has given me the opportunity to show my quality on the pitch. I spoke with all the people here, and I feel that they really wanted me, so that's why I'm here today.
“It’s an exciting challenge. We know that the Club is not at the place that it should be, but I'm here to help the team and to bring what I can to achieve our goal.”
Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Axel and his family to London Stadium and wish him every success for his career in Claret and Blue.
