Thursday marks six years since Atletico Madrid reached just their second ever European Cup final after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The first leg at the Estadio Vicente Calderon finished goalless between two sides coached by Diego Simeone and Jose Mourinho.

On April 30, 2014, El Cholo took his men to England to see if they could continue their run in the Champions League while also pushing for the LaLiga Santander title.

The Atletico XI that night was: Thibaut Courtois; Juanfran Torres, Joao Miranda, Diego Godin, Filipe Luis; Koke, Tiago Mendes, Mario Suarez, Arda Turan; Diego Costa and Adrian Lopez.

Former Atletico striker Fernando Torres gave the hosts the lead before Simeone's side completed a memorable comeback.

Adrian, Costa and Turan all netted during the second half to book their place in the final in Lisbon, where they would meet Real Madrid.

"I want to congratulate the mothers of these players because they were born with balls as big as this," Simeone famously said that night in London.
