Barcelona have changed considerably over the last decade, but May 16 marks the 10th anniversary of their 99-point title in LaLiga Santander.

The Blaugrana lifted their 20th title after beating Real Valladolid 4-0 at the Camp Nou.

It was Pep Guardiola's second year in charge, after winning the treble and making history in his debut campaign on the Barcelona bench.

They achieved 99 points, a record for the Catalans at the time, and they didn't have it easy, as Manuel Pellegrini's Real Madrid battled with them right until the final game of the season.

Going into the final matchday, Barcelona and Real Madrid had 96 and 95 points respectively. But Los Blancos could only draw 1-1 away at Malaga on the final day, so they concluded the campaign on 96 points.

Barcelona's team included the likes of Carles Puyol, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry Henry, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez and many more, and they were eager for more success.

That year, the Catalans won LaLiga Santander, the Supercopa de Espana, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Their record in LaLiga Santander was impeccable. Barcelona lost just one game - against Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Vicente Calderon - and scored 98 goals in their 38 games, while they conceded just 24. Messi was responsible for 34 of those goals.

Since the 2009/10 season, Barcelona have been able to beat their record points tally as Tito Vilanova led the Blaugrana to the title in 2012/13 with 100 points.
