The K League announced that "Team K League," composed of representative K League players, will play a friendly match against Premier League champions Manchester City on August 5 at Seoul World Cup Stadium, as part of the "2026 Coupang Play Series."

Since 2022, Team K League has faced renowned overseas clubs such as Tottenham, Atlético Madrid, and Newcastle United annually through the Coupang Play Series, delivering exciting matches to fans.

Manchester City, one of England's strongest teams, won the Premier League title in the 2025-26 season along with the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Kim Seong-han, representative of Coupang Play, stated, "This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Coupang Play Series, which, thanks to the continuous support of fans, has become a representative sports event in Korea. We will be fully prepared to provide fans with the best experience and continue to expand the foundation of Korean football."

Team K League's head coach and coaching staff will be announced at a later date. The player roster will be drawn from the 12 K League 1 teams, selected in consultation between the head coach and the league's technical committee. Additionally, one U-23 player will be chosen through fan voting via Coupang Play's "Couple Young Player" initiative.

Details regarding ticket reservations for the "2026 Coupang Play Series" will be announced by Coupang Play at a later date.
