Ole confirms Pogba, McTominay & 4 players will be out for FA Cup clash vs Wolves

Manchester United will be without six players for their FA Cup third round tie at Wolves on Saturday.

Midfielders Paul Pogba (ankle) and Scott McTominay (knee) are out and defenders Eric Bailly (knee), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee), Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo are also unavailable.

Other United players will sit out their final training session on Friday due to illness and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not decide on his squad until the morning of the game. Solskjaer confirmed Sergio Romero will start.

"Paul is out," Solskjaer said. "Axel, Eric, Tim are getting closer but won't be ready for this. Rojo won't be ready for this. There are a couple of feelings of illness and cold, which is normal for this time [of year], so I'll just have to see who wakes up tomorrow and feels ok.

"Today, of course, we've got a training session as well but some of them will miss that one."

United had three away draws in the FA Cup last season at Arsenal in the fourth round and Chelsea in the fifth round before they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Wolves in the quarter-finals.

Solskjaer is taking United to Molineux for the fourth time in 10 months and Wolves are unbeaten in four against United since they won promotion back to the Premier League in 2018.

"First of all, we blame the FA for the hot and cold balls!" Solskjaer joked. "We've had in succession Arsenal away, Chelsea away, Wolves away and Wolves away again, so they're not gonna make it easy for us.

"Tough fourth time there already in my time at Molineux and we haven't won there yet. Liverpool lost there last season, City just lost there now, so we know we've got to earn the right to win there, we've got to play well, we've got to perform and we've got to go there positive.

"Because we want a reaction after a defeat against Arsenal, which everybody said was such a bad, bad performance but it was in my mind a good game between two good teams."
