French publication L'Equipe have published their player ratings for Saturday night's Champions League final with some of the scores making grim reading for a few players.
Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in the European season's showpiece event thanks to a second half goal from Vinicius Junior.
Liverpool had looked the likelier of the two sides up to that point and thereafter continued to test Real Madrid but Thibaut Courtois pulled off some astonishing saves to ensure Los Blancos won their 14th Champions League crown.
Perhaps indicative of Real Madrid's debt of gratitude to their goalkeeper, L'Equipe ranked the Belgian as only one of two players in white to be worthy of a rating above a six.
Courtois was awarded a nine thanks to his performance in goal that saw notable saves from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at either end of the game. By contrast, his opposite number Alisson was only awarded a four.
Dani Carvajal, who kept the dangerous Luis Diaz quiet all night leading to the Colombian being awarded a three out of 10, was the other Real Madrid player to be rated above a six. He was thought to have put in a seven out of 10 performance.
Andrew Robertson was adjudged to be the worst performing Liverpool defender as he was awarded a five, while centre-backs Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk were both given sixes. Trent Alexander-Arnold, thought to be at fault for the Real Madrid goal, was also given a six.
Real Madrid saw their defence breached quite often with Courtois having to come to the rescue on a number of occasions. Eder Militao and his fellow centre-back David Alaba were both given sixes while L'Equipe clearly thought little of the left-backs on display as Ferland Mendy was given the same score of five granted to Robertson.
L'Equipe, who are notable for the harshness of their post-match player ratings, thought little of the two midfields.
Liverpool's starting three of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara were given five, five and four, respectively. Real Madrid's did not rank much better, with Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos being scored four, six and three.
Meanwhile, in attack Salah was thought to have performed well and were it not for the heroics of Courtois in the Real Madrid goal likely would have scored in consecutive Champions League final appearances.
The Egyptian was given a seven for his troubles, while team-mate Mane was scored a six.
Real Madrid's front-line did not seem to trouble Liverpool's back four a great deal apart from for the goal and a mix up in the first half that led to Karim Benzema being adjudged to be offside when he put the ball in the net.
The French publication gave Fede Valverde, who made the winning goal, a six while Benzema, so clinical and key he was this season to Real Madrid's run to the final, disappointed in his home country and was only awarded a five. Vinicius, the match winner, was given a six.
Real Madrid's average rating came in at 5.7 while Liverpool's was a snip under that at 5.2.
Carlo Ancelotti was believed to have performed a much better job on the night, with the Italian being given a rating of seven. Jurgen Klopp received merely a three.

Everybody who understands football knew the favorite team to win CL final cos Real Madrid journey towards final has been so difficult comparing to Liverpool. I think teams like PSG, Chelsea and Man City can witness how tough Real Madrid is to be defeated.
