'Only Spurs, Aston Villa remain' as Sevilla pull out of race for €35m Piatek

Sevilla have been 'defeated' in the race to land Krzysztof Piatek leaving two potential suitors for the AC Milan man, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com claimed that the LaLiga side made an offer of a six-month loan with obligation to buy set at €30m and were the frontrunners in the race to land Piatek.

This was then confirmed by Sky earlier on Thursday, with interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa plus a €35m asking price also mentioned, but Gianluca Di Marzio denied the presence of an offer reaching Milan's demands.

According to the latest from SportMediaset – as cited by MilanNews.it – Sevilla's interest has 'slipped' in the last few hours, meaning the LaLiga giants are no longer considered in the running for the former Genoa man.

This may be because the Andalusian club have confirmed the arrival of Leganes striker Youssef En-Nesyri after triggering his €20m release clause.

Mediaset continue by adding that Aston Villa and Tottenham remain in the running at the moment.
