Michael Owen has raised concerns over Harry Kane's return date, warning that the Tottenham striker may be set for a far longer layoff.
Returning any later than April will raise fears over the England captain's fitness for this summer's European Championships, with the final being held at Wembley. And Owen has claimed that, should his injury have been a full rupture, then it is likely that he will be sidelined for longer.
"I'm nervous about saying what he's got and comparing my injury to his," Owen told the Robbie Savage's Premier League Breakfast, on BBC 5Live. "I've read that he ruptured his hamstring at the tendon. That's exactly what I did. If it's the case that he did what I did, there is no chance he'll be back for April.
"If he has the same injury as me… I've read reports he'll be back for April… he'd have to be a miracle man if that's the case.
"I remember thinking, 'If I push on it's going to pop again'. It's a dangerous one to push. I do fear for him, I must admit."
