Ozil lines up for sensationally swap deal with Real Madrid's Isco (Independent)

Arsenal have been linked with an amazing swap deal involving Mesut Ozil and Real Madrid playmaker Icso.

The Gunners re ready to listen to offers for out-of-favour Ozil - who has become an outcast under Unai Emery despite being the club’s highest-paid player.

The 30-year-old signed a new £350,000-a-week contract less than a year ago.

However Ozil is still well regarded in Spain after a good spell there from 2010 to 2013.

And now the Independent claim Arsenal have already explored the possibility of a swap deal.

Out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Isco, 26, is also wanted by Manchester City .

The midfield maestro has fallen way down the pecking order at the Bernabeu under Santiago Solari and was booed by his own fans in their recent Champions League defeat to CSKA Moscow.

AS report that Manchester City are planning to swoop in January.

But following the latest Ozil bust up, Arsenal could steal and march and prepare a deal with suits both clubs.

Gunners boss Emery is frustrated with Ozil’s work rate and contribution to the team which is the reason why the World Cup winner has found himself out of the team.

There has been interest from Inter Milan who may be willing to do a loan deal in January but Arsenal are unlikely to subsidise his sky-high wages and would also want a sizeable fee for a permanent switch.

It means Arsenal are potentially left with a big problem for another two and a half years because Ozil’s deal runs until 2021 and yet he clearly does not fit into Emery’s plans.

Ozil is well aware of Emery’s reservations and yet still does not want to quit Arsenal but whether he can get back into the manager’s good books remains to be seen.
