No Neymar, no Mbappe, no problem! Draxler, Di Maria & Cavani each scored to seal a fifth straight Ligue 1 win for PSG as 19-year-old Moussa Diaby netted his debut goal.
Match Report
Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Moussa Diaby were all on target as Paris Saint-Germain continued their strong start to the season with a routine 4-0 Ligue 1 win at home to Saint-Etienne.
Neymar was rested ahead of Tuesday's Champions League trip to Liverpool while Kylian Mbappe was serving the first game of a three-match ban after his red card against Nimes last time out.
Saint-Etienne wasted a host of early chances in Friday's meeting at the Parc des Princes and Julian Draxler's terrific header earned the Ligue 1 champions a 22nd-minute advantage.
Cavani converted a second-half penalty he won himself with Di Maria adding gloss to the scoreline with a thumping strike before teenager Diaby opened his Ligue 1 account in the 84th minute.
Thomas Tuchel has now won his first six competitive games in charge of PSG, breaking Carlo Ancelotti's club record.
22' GOAL! PSG 1-0 Saint-Etienne (Draxler)
WHAT. A. GOAL! 1-0 PSG! Verratti clips in an absolutely stunning ball through for Draxler, and the German produces two stunning touches with his head, the first to tee himself up and the second to lift a finish over Ruffier! PSG lead, and it has to be said, that has come against the run of play!
51' Penalty Goal! PSG 2-0 Saint-Etienne (Cavani)
PENALTY TO PSG! A delicious ball is played into the area from Rabiot, though it may have been a scuffed shot? Only Rabiot will know. Nonetheless, Cavani takes it in brilliantly and is cut to ground by Perrin. The referee points straight to the spot!
CAVANI PUTS PSG 2-0 AHEAD! An emphatic penalty from the striker, as he drives a perfectly placed strike in to his right, sending Ruffier the wrong way.
76' GOAL! PSG 3-0 Saint-Etienne (Di Maria)
THAT'S A STUNNING FINISH! 3-0 PSG! Di Maria has options as he finds space inside the penalty area, but opts to go at it alone and it proves to be the right decision as he blasts a sensational finish into the roof of the net from a difficult angle, leaving Ruffier no chance!
84' GOAL! PSG 4-0 Saint-Etienne (Diaby)
ANOTHER FOR THE HOSTS! 4-0 PSG! Meunier drives forward down the left and pulls it back for Cavani on the end of a probing run. The striker scuffs his first-time shot, but it winds up being the perfect pass for Diaby, who smashes home his first Ligue 1 goal at the far post!
