PSG star axed from Arsenal trip after furious bust-up with Luis Enrique

Ousmane Dembele will NOT feature for Paris Saint-Germain when they meet Arsenal in the Champions League for disciplinary reasons, according to reports in France.

The former Barcelona winger, 27, moved to Ligue 1 last summer and has started the new season in blistering form, plundering four goals in six league games for PSG.

However, Dembele will play no part when the French champions travel to London in midweek to face Arsenal. The news was broken by French outlet L'Equipe on Monday morning - just 24 hours before their showdown with Mikel Arteta's side.

It's claimed that Dembele's absence is down to a 'heated argument' with the club's head coach, Luis Enrique, following their 3-1 win over Stade Rennais on Friday night.

While it's unclear over what their row was actually about, Enrique has decided to omit Dembele from the party travelling to London in midweek. It remains to be seen if the forward will return to the fold at the weekend when PSG face OGC Nice.

PSG beat Girona 1-0 in their opening Champions League fixture, while Arsenal were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw away at Atalanta.

Enrique's side will also be without star striker Kylian Mbappe for their trip to England as the Frenchman has been plagued by a thigh injury - but that hasn't dampened the occasion for Arsenal with Arteta claiming that nights playing against opponents like PSG are ones to savour.

“We are looking forward to it,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference. “These are the kind of nights we want to experience against an unbelievable opponent. We are ready for it.

“Everyone is looking forward to it. We missed it for a number of years and last year was the first where we could do it. The group stage is a bit different this season. The opposition we are facing tomorrow is probably the highest level you can find European football. But it is a great opportunity for us to see how we deal with it and how prepared we are and how we can impose ourselves in this kind of context.”

Arteta confirmed that Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White are both available against PSG, with the former suffering an injury scare in the 4-2 win over Leicester City.
