Bookmakers Paddy Power have enlisted the help of a former Premier League manager to mock Manchester United as their miserable start to the season continues.
The Red Devils were beaten 3-0 by Man City in the Manchester derby on Sunday, with the result increasing pressure on head coach Ruben Amorim.
Man United have won just one of their opening four Premier League matches this season, while they also suffered an embarrassing Carabao Cup defeat by League Two side Grimsby Town.
With Amorim having earned just 31 points in his 31 Premier League matches since taking charge last November, concerns have grown over his Old Trafford future.
Paddy Power highlighted doubts over Amorim's position and the state of Manchester United in social media clip featuring Alan Curbishley.
The bookmaker shared a clip with posing the question 'New Man United manager?', adding 'With Man United's season going from bad to worse, is it time to bring in a manager who can save them?'
Curbishley is best remembered for his 15-year spell as Charlton Athletic manager which saw him guide the guide to two promotions into the Premier League.
He ultimately succeeded in established the club as a regular in the top flight before stepping down in 2006.
Curbishley, now 67, has not managed a club since leaving West Ham in 2008 after a two-year spell.
Paddy Power played on his long absence from management, with the clip seeing Curbishley pleading for a chance to return to the dugout.
'Management, I could still do a job,’ Curbishley says. ‘The game’s move on, but I haven’t. I am still as good as I ever was.
‘I’ve got my tactics board, I will travel, you name the club, I’ll go there, League One, League Two, I’ll even consider the Scottish Premiership.
‘All I’m asking for, is for one club, one club to give me a chance.’
Immediately after Curbishley’s declaration, the former Charlton and West Ham manager’s phone is seen ringing with Man United’s minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe seen calling.
Curbishley is seen glancing at his phone and declines to answer, before stating ‘thank god for that’ when the call ends.
Addressing his wife, Curbishley states ‘Linda, can we get me a new number?’ before the clip ends with the former Premier League boss throwing his phone into a bin outside his home.
Curbishley’s apparent aversion to taking the Man United job comes with managers having seen their reputations damaged at Old Trafford in recent years.
Amorim has to date proved unable to turn around Man United’s fortunes after he took charge last November, following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag.
The Portuguese boss led the club to their lowest Premier League finish by ending last season in 15th place, while defeat in the Europa League final by Tottenham meant the Red Devils are not involved in European football this campaign.
Despite being backed with a £236m summer spend to bolster the squad, Amorim’s side having made an underwhelming start to the league season and have crashed out of the Carabao Cup.

Who else notices that every time a new manager comes he is not empowered at United the way Fergie was yet the expectations remain the same. Klopp and Guardiola not only brought their philosophies to Liverpool and Man City respectively but were backed financially by their boards and given the freedom to express themselves without interference from former players as loud as Gary Neville who has a podcast strictly for hounding players and managers. The Liverpool of Brendan Rogers and Kenny Daglish is different from Klopp's who got Van Dyke for a record fee, Salah and a world class goalkeeper to mention a few. Same with City who even after winning many league titles before Pep arrive still had most of the players sold to bring in the quality that went on to conquer Europe. What does Manchester United have? A few expensive signings every other transfer window and a new manager that doesn't last 3 seasons! By the time a manager leaves United the number of transfers they get isn't enough to implement their philosophy.

Amorim has to go as he’s fielding the players in the wrong positions and does not get the better from the good players like mainoo and even Amad is now showing signs of weakness .. he’s not changing formations , he’s not playing potential good players ??? The goalee .. where’s the new keeper ?? Why isn’t he fielded ? Luke Shaw is loosing it ! Why isn’t he replaced ?? All 3 goals ..slackness caused by him ? The players are being played according to their strength ?? He he’s not prepared to change his formation which clearly is not working for English clubs then he should leave n go back to Portuguese clubs n leave the English clubs to. E managed by coaches fm England, Scotland or Ireland or even welsh !!

Jimmy Ratcliffe should just swiftly employ someone that can deeply convince Zinidine Zidane to come and take over as the new Manchester United's manager. Amorin's experiment is over! This is the worst ever scenario I have witnessed as an avid Manchester United fan since I started supporting this team back then in 1994. Sincerely speaking, Amorin takes the largest portion of the current underwhelming situation in this club. Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United are very different teams playing in different leagues. It's Amorin's stubborness of sticking to one pattern of formation, forgetting that every match requires different approach base on the particular situation of that very match. How can someone remain persistent on a single idea that is not producing fruitful results? Most successful teams in Europe are well known for using 4-3-3/4-4-2/4-2-3-1 formations. And switches quickly to another formation if the initial plan fails going forward. But Amorin's case is not like that. The worst thing is that he doesn't listen to advise from greats when the going gets tougher. After all, every successful individual must be triggered by one or two individuals through different aids. In life, we must lean on each other to grow. He don't even have a man-management spirit. A good coach is fully aware that he's not only training or managing footballers but also he's managing human beings. The dude should just go kawai, period!🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶

ruud was performing, and Amorim finished the season in 15th. He lost a European final to spurs and united missed out on champions league football while still losing to Grimsby town in EFL CUP at the beginning of this season. this leaves United with only premier league football and FA CUP that starts in January... he's losing big games in the league, can't someone see that! as man.utd manager, you can't lose a football game to arsenal and should win the Manchester Derby
Lozcdlpyz

Ruud Would do a better Job there coz he knows the club more than Amorim
