Patrick Vieira has stepped down after a single season of managing Strasbourg, the French club controlled by the BlueCo ownership group best known for running Chelsea.
Vieira had signed a three-year contract when appointed in 2023, his one campaign in charge seeing his young side finish 13th out of 18 teams in Ligue 1. His departure mirrors that of Mauricio Pochettino, who also left Chelsea by mutual consent after 12 months in charge.
Vieira's responsibilities included improving players brought in on loan from Chelsea, with that trend likely to continue under the next candidate. The Arsenal and France legend has been linked with the managerial vacancy for the United States national team.
Strasbourg president Mark Keller said in a statement: 'We would like to express our thanks to Patrick for the work he has accomplished during this first phase of our project and wish him lots of success for the future. He will always be welcome at our club.'
BlueCo's purchase of Strasbourg kickstarted their multi-club model as they said in a statement at the time: 'This strategic investment would further our presence in European football, alongside our ownership of Chelsea. We believe it would create huge opportunities to share knowledge and expertise.'
The consortium are expected to add to their club roster beyond Chelsea and Strasbourg.

I think blue co want a particular system of play for their teams, they are Guardiola die hard followers and don't be surprised that they have just got another one like Maresca that will play the same way

Hmm, I hope It's not the same situation with Mauricio. Am afraid how we will build up on experience if people take roles and leave on short terms.
