Paul Pogba has replied to a Twitter user whose story went viral after his parents failed to recognise the Manchester United star during a train journey to London.
Their son was left bemused after he was sent a picture of his dad posing with the £89million midfielder and team-mate Nemanja Matic.
The parents were ridiculed by their son after they asked who they had met and then quickly turned their attention to posing for pictures with a dog after leaving the train.
His story garnered much attention on Twitter and Pogba has now replied to his tweet by saying: 'Man I need to see the dog… say hi to your lovely folks for me!'
Australian Nate Patrick, an eSports commentator and streamer, received the unlikely image via a family WhatsApp group after his parents met Manchester United's £129m duo on a Virgin train during a trip to England.
Nate's father, who takes no interest in football, had complained to Pogba and Matic after the pair's Uno game had become rowdy, and in return was offered a photograph by £290,000-a-week star Pogba.
Thinking he meant of him and his wife on the train, he politely accepted and even handed the World Cup winner his phone before politely accepting the footballers' offer to appear with them.
Patrick senior then posted the image in the family's group, asking 'OK Nath – who is this?'
A dumbfounded Patrick then responded somewhat over-excitedly: 'The man with his arm around dad is Paul Pogba, the most expensive footballer in the world, and World Cup winner with France.'
The couple turned around to make those playing the card game aware that they were causing a disturbance to their journey and they quickly came over to apologise, offering up a photo by way of an apology.
The gesture was well received and Patrick's dad handed the fellow passenger, who turned out to be Pogba, his phone so he and his wife could have a photo taken on the train together to remember the moment.
Confused, Pogba, wearing a £223 Palm Money Weed Hoodie, admits he was offering a photo with himself and Matic in it and although still unsure who he was exactly, the dad agreed so as to not be deemed impolite to his fellow passengers.
Having threatened to leave the group in outrage that his parents did not know the high-profile pair, his mum jokingly replied that he should be 'proud' of them for getting a photo.
Still in shock at what he was seeing in the group chat, Nathan added: 'THAT MAKES IT WORSE. PAUL POGBA MADE YOU TAKE A PHOTO. HE BASICALLY BEGGED YOU FOR IT.'
Pogba's decision to travel with 'red crocodile' luggage also caught the attention of the Patrick senior, a fashion choice he described as 'odd'.
While meeting the World Cup winner and his Serbian team-mate would have been too much for some to process, the parents quickly got over the meeting.
The thread ended with the note: 'They are now sharing photos of a dog they saw after they got off the train, so I think it's safe to say they've moved on. Thank you for your time. Football, eh?'
It turns out the train had come from Manchester and both Pogba and Matic were enjoying some time off after a warm-down session on the Sunday.
Both played their part in helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer make it seven wins from seven since he took charge on Saturday at home to Brighton.
The so-called rowdy passengers showed their competitive edge never wanes even away from the pitch as they went head-to-head at Uno.
Pogba was among the players which attended United's annual charity dinner on Tuesday night as the club raised over £225,000 for Unicef.
Attentions will now turn to the FA Cup as United face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
