Pedro reveals Chelsea players demanded form had to improve

Pedro has revealed he and his Chelsea team-mates demanded a reaction in order to improve their form following humiliating defeats by Manchester City and Bournemouth.

The Blues suffered their heaviest league defeat since 1996 at the hands of the Cherries on January 30, losing 4-0, and it did not take long for Maurizio Sarri's side to set a new record as they were thrashed 6-0 at the Etihad Stadium on February 10.

Form has picked up in recent weeks with victories over London rivals Tottenham and Fulham and Chelsea sit just two points outside the Champions League qualification spots with a game in hand over fourth-placed Manchester United.

Winger Pedro has opened up on what was said after suffering such big league defeats.

'We said "this is enough". I spoke during the week about the situation (with my team-mates), but now we're all focusing on reaching the top four,' he told Sky Sports.

'It's the most important thing for us until the end, to try to win every game. They're all finals because it's so important to get points, try to win every game and if not, it's going to be so difficult to qualify.'

Pedro has netted eight times and provided three assists in 37 appearances for the Blues this campaign with all of his goals coming in the top flight.

'It's probably the best form I've been in. Maurizio is very clear with his ideas and that's good for me because I run, press high and recover the ball. I stay close to the target to score goals and help my team - that's good,' Pedro added.

Pedro and his team-mates welcome Ukrainian Premier League outfit Dynamo Kiev to Stamford Bridge in the last 16 of the Europa League on Thursday night.
