Yes we do have long names, and until this day, when a woman gets married, some of them still keeping their madden name and adding her husband’s last name. So that’s how the last names continue to grow. And let’s say that the woman who chose to keep all her last names and adding her husband’s have then a girl and this girl gets married she may choose or choose not to remove any of her last names and just add he husband’s last name. I have some Brazilian friends with at least 5 to 7 last names. Princes and princesses names that’s what we have!!!

I read somewhere that the name Pele was derived from a make of football in use in Brazil then, known as pelada. The story had it that whenever that ball is played, Edison must be there. so because he's always found wherever you find the ball, people started calling him Pele, short form of the ball. The name stuck till today.

Peel is his nickname. His proper name is Armando De Nashimento. I hope I spelled right. First he was called Mela because he use to juggle an apple 🍎 then he tried to juggle with a pear 🍐 and he was called Pela. After that everyone called him PELE. THIS IS ACCORDING to a write up about PELE after the 1970 World Cup. His proper name is much longer then that but at the moment can’t remember it all. Thanks VIVA FOOTBALL ⚽️.
