Pep Guardiola remains optimistic about Manchester City’s chances in the Premier League title race despite a frustrating 1-1 draw against West Ham.
The result leaves City nine points behind Arsenal, although they still have a game in hand. Despite dominating the match, the Citizens struggled to convert their chances, with Erling Haaland missing several opportunities in front of goal.
After the match, Guardiola refused to give up on the title fight. “It’s not over because we haven’t lost,” the Spanish coach said, insisting that his team still has time to recover ground. He also defended Haaland, acknowledging the team’s attacking struggles while expressing confidence in the striker.
“The lack of goals is weighing on us, but he will be back,” Guardiola added, while urging his players to rediscover their attacking fluidity ahead of the upcoming clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
