Pep Guardiola has shrugged off Jurgen Klopp's latest accusations about Manchester City's spending power and has heard them repeated so often he has started ignoring them.
City believe Klopp inflamed tensions ahead of the latest showdown between the two clubs last weekend when he said the Blues were one of three clubs who could "do whatever they want" because they had the backing of a nation-state.
The Liverpool boss said nobody could compete with City and that his club "cannot act like them", referencing the signing of Erling Haaland this summer as adding the best striker in the world "no matter what it costs".
Privately City were furious at Klopp's comments and believe they added to the simmering tensions between the two clubs ahead of the fixture at Anfield last weekend, which Liverpool won 1-0.
Guardiola has previously launched strong defences of City's approach in the transfer market when faced with similar accusations, but this time he offered little in the way of riposte, saying he had heard it all before from Klopp and had ignored the criticism to focus on preparations for facing Brighton this weekend.
“Firstly, it’s not a surprise because it is not the first time he has said it. And the second point, it is Brighton," said Guardiola.
Klopp suggested that three clubs - City, Newcastle and Paris St-Germain - had no ceiling because of their financial backing from Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, but that clubs like Liverpool did have a ceiling.
Asked if he felt that was the case, Guardiola said: "I said it’s not the first time he said that in the last five or six years, so Brighton."
Guardiola was also pressed on whether he was fed up with the same old comments being aimed at City into his seventh season with the club, but only responded "it is what it is", before turning talk to facing the Seagulls again.
The City boss did stoke the fires of his rivalry with Klopp a little further however, suggesting he had more faith in Liverpool than their own manager.
Klopp has ruled the Reds out of the title race after a sluggish start to the season, but Guardiola said last week he still felt Liverpool were City's biggest challengers, something that might prove to be correct after their two wins this week.
"It looks like with my statement I believe more in the Liverpool team than their manager," said Guardiola.
"It’s just 10 fixtures, the World Cup in the middle and a lot of games to play, Europe involved and cup competitions involved, injuries involved.
"I said before, when we have six or seven games left, yes. When it is just 10 games, one thousand million things can happen. I’m only concerned with Brighton in the future."

After all his comment, he couldn't produce from youth team an attacking midfield forward like Foden. Klopp is just being jealous
