With just a matter of days remaining for Premier League clubs to finalise any last minute deals before the transfer window closes, attention will soon turn to how the new faces will fare on the pitch.
Some have swapped one Premier League club for another - like Harry Maguire's £80million switch from Leicester to Manchester United. But for others, this will be their first campaign in the English top flight.
DANIEL JAMES - MANCHESTER UNITED
Make no mistake about it, Dan James is heading into the new season with a fierce determination to be a starting winger for Manchester United.
At 21, that would seem improbable given he was operating at a mid-table side in the Championship last season.
But a full pre-season under his belt, where he has received regular minutes, has put him firmly in the picture ahead of the opener against Chelsea. The Welshman assumed the role of hero in Cardiff at the weekend with the winning penalty against AC Milan and few will bet against him having an impact in lots of games this season.
Pace few can match and a genuine eye for goal, James is chomping at the bit to get going
NICOLAS PEPE - ARSENAL
While he may not have been the absolute priority in the eyes of some supporters, Nicolas Pepe will offer real directness and, like James at United, incredible pace that will keep defenders up at night.
The club's £72million record signing naturally carries a heavy burden on his shoulders given the price-tag but he looks sharp and ready to hit the ground running after a solid Africa Cup of Nations campaign with the Ivory Coast.
Having scored 35 goals in 74 games for Lille during his two years at the club - 22 of those goals came last season - he will carry a major threat from wide areas.
Expect to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Pepe in a three behind Alexandre Lacazette. Frightening prospect.
SEBASTIAN HALLER - WEST HAM
Admittedly, West Ham have had something of a curse on their major striker signings in recent years.
Fans have been presented with 38 strikers since David Gold and David Sullivan took over back in January 2010.
Between those 38, only 203 goals were scored in a staggering 957 matches. And so while the jury will remain out for now on the £45m summer signing from Frankfurt, he appears to have all the attributes to more than hold his own in English football.
He just needs to avoid doing what he did in his home debut against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend - scoring in the wrong net!
RODRI - MANCHESTER CITY
It would have been fair to say that improving a team that managed 198 points over the last two Premier League campaigns was always going to be tough. Very tough, in fact. Only the best in the world would do.
There is no denying the ageing process certain members of the squad are going through and sooner or later Pep Guardiola had to find a long term successor to Fernandinho.
On the club's pre-season tour of Asia, Guardiola hailed his shiny summer arrival as 'an incredible holding midfielder'.
Those words should be worrying Jurgen Klopp, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Unai Emery, Frank Lampard, Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of those bosses keen to be at the top end. Can the champions really get better?!
JOELINTON - NEWCASTLE UNITED
Newcastle are as short as 2/1 to be relegated this season. The appointment of Steve Bruce was met with a backlash from the supporters and the club face a horror start to the season with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all in the first five games.
But, fans have a new man to put their hope into and his name is Joelinton. The Brazilian is the club's record signing at £40m and dare I say it - no doubt a Fantasy Football jinx - he looks like a player who knows how to create and score goals.
With Newcastle seeing Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez depart a lot of the burden for goals will land at the feet of Joelinton. His 11 goals at Hoffenheim simply would not be enough.
But given he seemingly has the physicality and the work-rate for the Premier League, Bruce could have pulled a real rabbit from the hat with this one.
CHRISTIAN PULISIC - CHELSEA
Nobody in west London needs to even put into words how important Eden Hazard was for large parts of last season as the Blues rallied for a top four finish and Europa League success.
But the diminutive Belgian has left for the circus at Real Madrid and in comes Christian Pulisic, who actually agreed to move to Chelsea back in January - before they had a transfer ban imposed on them.
The American is just 20 and is adamant he is not a like-for-like replacement for the departed Hazard, but fans are already excited about his potential having made an impact in pre-season.
Often direct and comfortable shifting inside and out as a wide player, expect Pulisic to be involved in the thick of the action. Likely to get regular starts, particularly early on, with Callum Hudson-Odoi injured.
TANGUY NDOMBELE - TOTTENHAM
Former Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov told Sportsmail that the Frenchman is the 'perfect signing' this summer and it is difficult to argue with him.
Tanguy Ndombele is one of the most efficient and dominating box-to-box midfielders around right now having broken through for club and country last season.
Mauricio Pochettino has picked up an effective ball carrier who will be proactive with and without the ball - offering more in a deep-lying midfield role than Victor Wanyama or Eric Dier.
Alongside Harry Winks, Spurs could out-hassle, out-run and out-pass opponents en route to success. Ndombele appears a smart - and crucially low maintenance - investment.
PATRICK CUTRONE - WOLVES
It was telling that AC Milan fans had nothing but kind words for Patrick Cutrone as he was unveiled in a Wolverhampton Wanderers shirt last week.
While his agent has admitted he wanted to stay at the San Siro before the Italian side decided otherwise, regular action alongside someone such as Raul Jimenez will only make him a better player.
Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves were devilishly good for the club last season and their creativity will ensure Cutrone gets chances - it will all just come down to him whether he can take them. Three goals from 12 starts for Milan last season creates one impression but his minutes were few and far between and he needs to be viewed with a clean slate.
Cutrone could be a slow builder but his quality is undeniable and at £16m, the Italian could yet prove one of the steals of the summer.
DANI CEBALLOS - ARSENAL
The fact Real Madrid were totally against Dani Ceballos leaving on a permanent basis tells everyone that the Spanish giants see him as a star of the future in white and gold.
For now he will wear red and white - for one season at least - and Arsenal fans are well within their rights to get excited about the Spanish U21 star.
Inspired by fellow Spaniards - and former Arsenal stars - Cesc Fabregas and Santi Cazorla, Ceballos’ will look to continue the dazzling form he showed in the U21 European Championships for Spain this summer.
He could rival Mesut Ozil as the primary No 10 if Emery rigidly sticks with a 4-2-3-1 this season.
WESLEY MORAES - ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa’s new £22m has faced incredible adversity in his life, from losing his father at the age of nine and having his first child at the age of 15. There is absolutely no chance a debut season in the Premier League is going to phase him.
There will remain plenty of skepticism having arrived from Belgium where he represented Club Brugge.
But 17 goals and 10 assists last season show he is beginning to go through the gears. Villa have spent more than £130m this summer to give themselves the best chance at success this season and they need Wesley to step up and deliver in front of a hopeful - and expectant - Holte End at Villa Park.
His goals and performance in his debut season is likely to be a determining factor in how things go for Villa overall.

James is gonna be a success He needs to work a bit on finishing He is unlike rashford, lingard and pogba. You can see determination in his eyes . The other three enjoy their game both on and off the pitch but this kid is serious about it . Give him one full season, don’t judge him with that, let him adapt, let him play and link up with wan bissaka as much as possible , then there won’t be a worry for us in right wing for years to come ❤️. All the best James . And all the best all the other mentioned players in the post - some have already proven their quality, some are yet to. Just one thing, premier league is a different ball game , so even if u fail, learn to pick urselves up quickly. All the best
