Former Real Madrid central defender Pepe has been linked with a move to Wolves.

The 35-year-old was recently released by Besiktas in Turkey and could be heading to the Premier League.

A move to Wolves would see him link up with Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota, who are also clients of Jorge Mendes.

It is thought, however, that the sticking point could be Pepe's wages, which are understood to be close to £100,000-per-week.

Pepe would help to further bolster Nuno Espirito Santo's defensive ranks after Ryan Bennett signed a new three-year deal at the club.

The 28-year-old committed his future to the club until 2021 on improved terms.

He made his 50th appearance for Wolves in Saturday's 2-0 win over Bournemouth having joined on a free from Norwich in 2017.
