Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has brutally shut down talk of a potential reunion with Manchester United wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo, as the Portuguese superstar continues to struggle attracting offers from European giants.
Ronaldo has been keenly pursuing an exit from Old Trafford this summer, causing many to speculate whether he would once again take up arms with Los Blancos.
However, despite Ronaldo spending nine fruitful years in the Spanish capital, Bernabeu chief Perez laughed off any suggestion of a return.
Jokingly referring to his age on a video that went viral on Thursday, Perez said: 'Sign Cristiano? Again? He's 38 years old!'
The president was quizzed by fans whilst staying in a hotel in Helsinki on the night Real Madrid triumphed 2-0 in the Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Spanish giants have already signed Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco for £85million this summer as well as ex-Chelsea centre-half Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer.
Erik ten Hag suffered a disappointing start to his tenure as Manchester United manager, enduring a 2-1 defeat to Brighton on the opening Premier League weekend.
Faced with a glut of striker complications including Ronaldo's transfer request saga and Anthony Martial's hamstring injury, the Dutchman has been stretched thin for options in attack.
Manchester United's wantaway came off the bench to help claw one back against Brighton on Sunday and may well be trusted from the start when Ten Hag's troops travel to Brentford this weekend.

Ronaldo is a wonderful player but Perez is right, age is not on his side anymore, every beautiful story has an end

To me, Ronaldo should stay with Man United since they never said they don't want him. Man United is like a parental Club to him, he should show loyalty to Man United. I really don't fancy the idea of him looking for away out simply because Man United didn't qualify for Champions league. Is the Champions league more important to him than Manchester? Of course NO. This is the time Man United needed him most because they all loved him and they also sees him as their Legend. At this stage, Ronaldo needs to be very careful with any step he takes at this moment because all eyes on him so that, people don't see him as one who only care for himself alone. Looking for an exit door is not the best at this moment hence Man United never said they don't want him.

The truth is, Madrid can never resign cris again when they sacked him when he was 32 and now that he is 38 you think Madrid will do so when utd already putting him on the bench? Last match, he played 45 minutes and had only 12 touches, no goal, no assist, no dribble, no tap in, no nothing! Even if he comes back to Madrid, he will sit on the bench because Benzema and vini are too hot for him. Welcome from utd bench to madrid B team!
