Peter Schmeichel stated that after Arsenal's away victory against Liverpool, he doesn't believe any other team can truly threaten Arsenal.

Peter Schmeichel stated that after Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Liverpool, he still doesn't believe any team in the Premier League can truly threaten Arsenal.

Havertz scored the only goal of the match in Merseyside, helping Arsenal extend their lead to three points at the top of the table after Manchester City was held by a in-form Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Gunners also lost to the Seagulls in September, but they have bounced back strongly in their last four matches, securing all 12 points and conceding only one goal.

Sunday's resilient victory was Arsenal's first win at Anfield since 2012. Arteta's team will return to league action next weekend, hosting Hull City.

However, the reigning English champions must first contend with an away trip to SK Slavia Praha in midweek, and Arteta will undoubtedly hope his team returns safely from the Czech Republic.

Andoni Iraola's Liverpool had over 56% possession and 17 shots compared to Arsenal's 10, but none of them were on target.

But Arsenal excelled in the one statistic that truly matters. After watching this spirited performance, Peter Schmeichel is even more convinced that the North London team can defend their title.

"The team came to Anfield and won 1-0, and I don't care how they won," he said on Viaplay.

"We can discuss this, and we have been discussing it for two years."

"Now they are winners. With the squad Arteta has at his disposal and the players he can call upon, I don't see anyone challenging this team."

Peter Schmeichel also specifically praised Madueke, believing Arteta has developed the winger from a "talent" into an "excellent footballer."

"Do you remember him when he was at Chelsea? We were sitting behind the dugout, and he was substituted in a game we were covering," the Dane said about Madueke.

"Everyone talked about his behavior after the match... that kind of behavior doesn't make you a great player."

"What we just saw in the game against Liverpool was excellent coaching work.

"He has developed a player whom everyone thought would only remain 'talented' into an excellent footballer."

Former Arsenal winger Ljungberg also highly praised Madueke, believing the England international will play a "very important" role for the team in the coming months.

"He is a top talent," explained Ljungberg, a member of Arsรจne Wenger's "Invincibles."

"He is different from Saka. Saka is more of a consistent player, you could say? He's in the right position, makes the right decisions, runs, and chooses shots, he knows what he needs to do.

"Madueke is more like: one-on-one, he takes the ball and drives forward. He's fast and more direct. Sometimes we criticize his defensive commitment, and maybe ask: is he in the right position? Is he protecting the middle? What is he doing defensively? And sometimes he loses focus.

"But he wasn't like that against Liverpool. It was a very mature performance because sometimes we would tell him 'don't lose focus!', and he didn't lose focus in this game.

"He played very well and will be very important."
