Phil Neville watched on as his son Harvey featured in Manchester United U18s victory over Newcastle.

The young Red Devils pulled off a 3-1 victory, and Neville junior played his part in the action on Tyneside.

Neil Ryan's side triumphed over the Magpies courtesy of a brace from Charlie McCann and a solo strike from Anthony Elanga, and in doing so continued to sustain their title challenge.

Blustery conditions did not prevent the United youngsters from making their mark on the contest, and many fans are hoping the likes of Neville junior will one day make the step up.

Taking to social media following the match, Phil posted an image of his son in action along with a scoreline caption, for his 466,000 followers.

Many fans immediately began to respond, wishing Harvey good luck for the future and willing him to make the breakthrough.

Both Phil and brother Gary Neville were part of the famed 'class of '92', making their entrance into the full United set-up and going on to become club icons.

The Neville's made the step up alongside David Beckham, and the families have remained close ever since.

Harvey Neville previously plied his trade in the academy set up of Spanish giants Valencia, making the move when Phil became assistant manager to Gary for a short period.
