Pique made his 600th appearance for Barcelona against Osasuna

Sunday, March 13, 2022, will remain a landmark date for Gerard Pique after the central defender made his 600th appearance for Barcelona against Osasuna.

The boyhood Barcelona fan reached the impressive figure 14 years after he returned to the club in 2008 following a spell in England with Manchester United.

In February he overtook his former team-mate Carles Puyol for appearances, and he keeps adding to that figure.

Most of his appearances have been in LaLiga Santander, with 387 games, followed by 122 Champions League fixtures and 65 Copa del Rey fixtures.

There are an additional 16 Supercopa ties, five Club World Cup games, three Europa League outings and two European Super Cups.

Pending the result of the game against Osasuna, Pique has won 410 games and scored 53 goals in the process.

He's also won an incredible 30 titles, with the Europa League the only competition in which he has played but not won.

Heavyweight

Even at the age of 35, Pique remains an undisputed starter for Barcelona, so much so that against Galatasaray, Xavi rested him but had to bring him on to add security at the back.

"The day I stop playing for Barcelona, I'll quit football, I'll never play for another team," he said last summer, before committing his future to the club in 2024.
