Mauricio Pochettino has told England to hold fire on the decision to take Harry Winks to the European U21 Championship.
Winks, who impressed as he won his second senior cap in the victory against Spain, will be 23 in February but is eligible for the tournament in Italy and San Marino next year.
The Tottenham midfielder who has missed so much game time with injuries in the last 12 months said he would be prepared to join Aidy Boothroyd's squad.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was more circumspect.
'It's so far away,' said Pochettino. 'We didn't talk at all yet. It is not the moment now to talk.
'There are many different parts in that decision: the player, club and the national team.
'If they all believe Harry Winks will be involved there is still a long time before we make that decision.
'Nearly at the end of the season. We haven't talked about it.'

Ive been saying this for some time now, every player should gain experience from these tournaments, get the winning mentality going! Winks looks really good, seems to be the creative midfielder we need, who takes his time to pick a pass instead of rushing everything! Once Polished he could end up being a quality player!
