The latest on Chelsea's transfer plans following the news that Michael Olise has committed his future to Crystal Palace by signing a new contract extension at Selhurst Park

After missing out on Michael Olise, Chelsea have now been forced to look at other attacking options.

Chelsea, who are looking for someone that can play on the right wing and also operate in the middle as a No.10, will now have to scour the market for other options as we approach the final fortnight of the summer transfer window. There have been two standout options all summer that Chelsea have been in contact with – Mohammed Kudus and Rayan Cherki.

West Ham United have an interest in the 23-year-old and have strong relations with Ajax following the signing of Edson Alvarez earlier in the month. Chelsea, though, have always had half an eye on Kudus and could revisit the situation now a deal for Olise is a no-go.

The Ghanaian wants to leave Ajax before the transfer window closes, it's understood. Agreeing a deal with the Dutch club is the only real hurdle Chelsea have to overcome, though, with the Amsterdam-based outfit wanting around £40million for his signature.

Lyon have the 20-year-old under contract until the summer of 2025 and are determined to keep hold of him. The French club, however, did not completely rule out selling their prized asset if the right offer was to arrive their way.

Chelsea watched Cherki on multiple occasions last season, football.london understands, where the Frenchman shone for Lyon. The youngster is seen as the right profile for Chelsea who want someone that can operate centrally and in wide areas.

The club have wanted this sort of player all summer long but the recent injury to Christopher Nkunku has made their desire even stronger. Brennan Johnson, who also has interest from Tottenham, has also seen his name mentioned following the Olise news.

The next two weeks of the summer transfer window will undoubtedly bring up even more names. Chelsea, in typical Chelsea fashion, are expected to have a really busy two-week period to end the window.
