Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has phoned Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho in a bid to convince him to join the club.
The North London club are favourites to secure a last-minute loan deal for the Brazi playmaker, who is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.
The former Liverpool midfielder previously played under Pochettino at Espanyol, and may be open to the switch.
Coutinho earns around £200,000-a-week at Barcelona, which would see him become the best paid-player at Tottenham, should he join.

The main reason why Coutinho didn't shine is Valverde..... Valverde never made Coutinho play at his natural position..... One of the most important reason why Brazil won the Copa America this year was because Tite made Coutinho play at his natural position extracting the best out of him....Moreover, Coutinho shining at Anfield was because he was allowed to play his natural game.... Before judging anyone we should wear his/her shoes and walk through his/her path....

Barcelona is seriously making a huge mistake by letting Coutinho go on loan. Why not sell Vidal, Rafinha, and Rakitic in order to create space in the midfield for Coutinho?

Since Liverpool does not want to bring Coutinho I believe the best thing for him to do is either to join Arsenal or Tottenham. My message to Cotinho is that Liverpool aint the only team and you are at your peak so take take your chances and perhaps hammer Liverpool nicely in the process. You have done no wrong to anybody and if Liverpool think that you owe them anything than we are wrong. Coutinho you are the master of your own destiny so forget about Liverpool and take your chances with other teams in Epl

I don't care what people say but this might bring the best out of coutiniho. Pochitto is one of those managers under who players usually grow. Have example of Kane, song hueng min, Dele ali or even Lucas moura who's like 29 I guess but still developed leading Spurs to ucl final from being a outcasted player at psg . his otherwise game's great and improved as well. I think it might turn Coutiniho to one of the best and BARCELONA might call him back from the loan when they feel the need.
