Pogba gives anti-racism band to fan before Newcastle fixture

Manchester United fans loved Paul Pogba's pre-match gesture as he was pictured handing his anti-racism wristband to a young fan at Old Trafford.

Pogba - who was left on the substitutes bench by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the visit of Newcastle - took part in the warm up alongside his teammates.

After the pre-match routines were complete, the Frenchman handed his anti-racism wristband to a young fan in the crowd who couldn't believe his luck.

Alarmingly, incidents of racism appear to be on the rise in the Premier League with the latest investigation taking place after Chelsea's win against Tottenham.

Back in August, Pogba vowed to take a stand against racism for the next generation after being targeted online following a missed penalty against Watford.

He wrote on Twitter: "My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football.

"Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation.”
