Pogba has become a €24m salary problem at Man Utd

Paul Pogba does not want to play for Manchester United any longer, at least as long as Jose Mourinho remains at the club, as the relationship between both men hits an all-time low.

The Frenchman wanted to leave in the summer but United's American owners blocked the move in the hope that a positive solution could be found.

That is now far from a reality and Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is scouring Europe's top clubs to find a suitable destination for the ex Juventus midfielder.

The Italian giants are the World Cup winner's first choice, however, Juve would have to sell some of their current players in order to make a deal happen, to balance the books and avoid any issues with Financial Fair Play.

The main problem for Pogba is the huge 114 million euros transfer fee that United paid for him in the summer of 2017 and, even more so his 24 million euros salary.

The 25-year-old earns 12 million euros net a year and very few teams could afford such wages.

Raiola has tried to convince Barcelona to sign the player, but the Blaugrana have other economical battles to worry about and would not be willing to part ways with such a significant outlay.

Pogba enjoyed an impressive World Cup and his intention was not to return to Old Trafford, but he had little choice and while he continues in Manchester for now, it seems only a matter of time before the player moves on.

"I don't know how long for. Today yes, tomorrow who knows where," he said just days ago, rather mysteriously.

The tension in the changing room with Mourinho is at an all-time high with bad results, the League Cup exit at the hands of Derby County, and his decision to relinquish Pogba of any captain's duties in the future.

An impossible relationship to maintain but with a 114 million transfer fee and a 24 million in wages, a solution will not be easy to find.
