Pogba wants new Man United contract which worth more than £290,000 a week (Sun)

Paul Pogba is ready to commit his future to Manchester United by signing a new long-term contract worth more than £290,000 a week.

The Frenchman pushed for a move to Barcelona last summer after falling out with Jose Mourinho, but he now wants to stay at Old Trafford after the Portuguese was sacked and replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And according to The Sun, Pogba now wants to sit down with United chiefs and agree improved terms despite having two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form since Solskjaer took charge on an interim basis, scoring five goals to help the former United striker to seven straight wins.

Pogba had become disillusioned with life at the club after a series of disagreements with Mourinho over the last year. He also had the vice captaincy taken off him by the former Chelsea boss in late September. 

But following Mourinho's sacking in December, Pogba has turned his form around and now sees a future for himself at United.

The former Juventus star is currently the Red Devils' second-highest earner behind Alexis Sanchez, who earns up to £500,000 a week at Old Trafford. 

However, Pogba would expect a sizeable increase on his £290,000-a-week pay packet in order to put him closer to the Chilean's incredible contract.

A source told The Sun: 'Pogba's agent is ready to end the problems he has had with the club over the last few months.

'He wasn't over much towards the end of last year. There was a big breakdown of relationships while Mourinho was in charge.'
