Premier League 2022-23 fixtures: Chelsea visit Everton up first in reunion with Frank Lampard

Chelsea will get their 2022-23 Premier League campaign up and running against a familiar face, with a trip to Frank Lampard's Everton in store on the opening day.

The Blues are scheduled to visit Goodison Park in a late Saturday kick-off on August 6, when their all-time record goalscorer will be looking to inflict defeat on his former club.

One week later they come up against another old hero in Antonio Conte, whose Tottenham side are set to rock up at Stamford Bridge for a mouthwatering London derby on August 13.

The rest of Chelsea's opening five fixtures make pleasant reading for Thomas Tuchel, as after their encounter with Spurs they will face Leeds (A), Leicester (H) and Southampton (A), and be confident of taking maximum points.

Tuchel will be hoping to see his side close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool this season, and their first meeting with one of the two title favourites comes against the latter at Stamford Bridge on September 17.

They do not have to worry about a clash with City until January 2, when Pep Guardiola's champions will make the trip to west London.

But in a potential title decider, Chelsea are currently down to visit the Etihad for their penultimate game of the season, which could prove a crucial outing on May 20.

Fortunately for Tuchel, as things stand his side do not have to worry about a nightmare run of fixtures against direct rivals.

Their most worrying schedule either comes when a trip to Brighton (October 29) is sandwiched by the visit of Manchester United (October 22) and Arsenal (November 5), or when a home outing against Crystal Palace (January 14) comes in the middle of clashes with City (January 2) and Liverpool (January 21).

At the back end of the campaign, trips to United and Arsenal (April 24 and 29) are also scheduled either side of a home fixture against Brentford.

The Premier League's festive schedule will only consist of two matches this term, with no games taking place between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.

Chelsea will welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge on December 26 before going away to newly-promoted Nottingham Forest five days later.

The Blues also have a hectic Champions League schedule to juggle with their league matches, with six group-stage encounters in store from September 6 to November 2.

Their second group game on either September 13 or 14 falls just before their battle against Liverpool on September 17, while the fifth on October 25 or 26 will come a few days after the visit of United on October 22.

A final group fixture on November 1 or 2 is scheduled shortly before a derby against Arsenal on November 5.
