Plans for two inductees into the Premier League’s inaugural Hall of Fame this week have been cancelled because of the coronavirus crisis.
Two leading players were due to be celebrated at a special event in London on Thursday evening, with Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry among the favourites.
But the ceremony has been called off with Premier League bosses set to meet with clubs that day to discuss issues related to the suspension of the competition.
The League will decide on Monday whether it should still announce its two inductees this week.
But the Hall of Fame, revealed in February, could now be put on hold until the current crisis subsides.
The Premier League has been suspended until at least April 3 after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was revealed to have contracted the rapidly-spreading coronavirus.
Chelsea midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi has also tested positive, with a host of other players in self-isolation and training grounds shut down as a precaution.
There are now doubts over how the 2019-20 season should be concluded, if at all.

Inducting Alan Shearer and Henry before Ryan Giggs is what has lead to this COVID19 outbreak joined with the fact that Liverpool just couldn't be Liverpool and let someone else win this league

i think corona virus deserves the first position as an inductee cause no other player has had this type of impact on premiere league.... because of coronas present form, the league has been postponed to calm it down...
