The Premier League are set to meet on Friday to discuss concluding the season by June 30 amid fears of a dispute over transfers and players' contracts, according to widespread reports.
All professional football in England has been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the Premier League initially declaring their intention to finish the season by the end of June.
Fifa announced that transfer regulations would be relaxed in order to allow clubs to reach solutions with players and other clubs regarding transfers, loans and contracts.
But Sky Sports report there will be a meeting to discuss a definitive date as several clubs are concerned that if the season does not end in June, it could enable players to walk free from their contracts before the campaign is finished.
The report adds that no decisions are expected to be ratified at Friday's meeting and, as has always been the case, the season will only restart when the government advises that it is safe to do so.
Various ideas for how to finish the season have been circulated, from voiding it entirely to hosting a 'World Cup' style schedule which would feature several games being played each day.
There are currently 92 Premier League fixtures still to play and it appears likely that even if the UK's lockdown is lifted, clubs will have to fulfil their remaining games behind closed doors.

While we endeavor to end this pandemic, I'll be waiting to see if EPL's return might work. A risk yet it may be possible.
