Premier League table of the decade revealed as Man City & Man Utd finish top 2

Manchester City have edged out rivals Manchester United for number one spot in the Premier League table of the decade.

The reigning Premier League champions have won the title four times throughout the decade, compared to United's two triumphs in 2011 and 2013.

City, by contract, have been named as the division's best side in 2012, 2014 and in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2019 under Pep Guardiola.

Chelsea also won the Premier League title three times, with Leicester City's freak result in 2016 making them the only other side to have lifted the trophy.

As a result, City sit top of the pile, having collected 812 points from 378 games this season.

In a table based on points per game, Guardiola's men come in with a colossal 2.148 per match, with United in second at 1.966 but 71 points behind their city rivals altogether.

Chelsea finish the decade in third place, averaging 1.947 points per game and amassing a total of 734 points, only seven less than United.

Liverpool's resurgence under Jurgen Klopp, however, only sees them in fourth, after spending most of the first half of the decade outside the Champions League places under several different managers.

Their tally comes in at 704 points, with an average of 1.867 per Premier League fixture.

However, their revival under Klopp lifts them above both Tottenham and Arsenal, who are neck and neck in fifth and six respectively.

There are only five points separating the league-leaders in fourth and Arsenal in sixth, although it's tough to see either London club overhauling that deficit over Liverpool before the turn of the year.
