Alexis Mac Allister said helping Liverpool to the Premier League title was a "dream come true" after playing a starring role in their title-clinching rout against Tottenham Hotspur.

After going behind to Dominic Solanke's 12th-minute header, Luis Diaz restored parity at Anfield before Mac Allister's stunning finish got the party started on Merseyside.

Cody Gakpo would increase Liverpool's first-half lead before Mohamed Salah and an own goal from Destiny Udogie sealed a 5-1 win on a perfect day for Arne Slot's side.

Mac Allister signed for Liverpool in 2023 and was part of the midfield rebuild under Jurgen Klopp, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo also joining.

The Argentine, in particular, has been a standout performer in the middle of the park for the Reds this campaign, netting seven goals in 47 appearances in all competitions.

In the Premier League in 2024-25, no player has won more tackles for Liverpool than Mac Allister (58), though the 26-year-old has been equally impressive in the final third.

He has created 43 chances for his team-mates in the top-flight, the fifth-highest for Slot's team, while also notching four assists in his 33 Premier League outings this term.

Against Spurs, Mac Allister posted game-high totals for tackles (four) and duels (eight) won, while only Gravenberch (eight) won possession back more times than Liverpool's number 10 (seven) on Sunday.

It has been a memorable last three years for Mac Allister, who has won the World Cup and Copa America with Argentina as well as lifting his first major honour for the Reds in last season's EFL Cup.

But after getting his hands on his first Premier League trophy, Mac Allister took to Instagram to express how much it meant to help Liverpool to top-flight glory once again.

"I never forget where I come from. From a family that taught me the value of hard work, from dreams born with an Irish surname and a truly Argentine heart," Mac Allister said.

"And today, from Liverpool, it writes an unforgettable chapter.

"When I joined this club, I knew it was a special place. But what I've experienced this year has gone beyond anything I ever imagined.

"Every training session, every match, every time I stepped onto the pitch at Anfield… I felt the weight of this shirt and the passion of a unique fanbase.

"It took hard work, commitment, giving everything in every moment. Because wearing this shirt isn't for just anyone… and because I've dreamt of this since I was a boy.

"Lifting the Premier League trophy with Liverpool is the dream come true. One that began many years ago, and today becomes reality.

"Thank you to my family, who were always there. Thank you to the club, for believing in me. Thank you to football, for giving me so much.

"And thank you to all of you, for making it eternal. This is Liverpool. This is what it means to be champions."
